The Remix Invitational
A Day of Golf, Creativity, and Community
Back in July, the Remix Invitational took over Glen Abbey Golf Club, and it wasn’t just another golf tournament. This event was about more than just swinging clubs—it was about supporting The Remix Project, a cause that’s close to us at The Combine.
So, what’s the Remix Project? It’s a non-profit that gives young artists and creatives a chance to break into industries that aren’t always easy to access. They provide training, mentorship, and opportunities to help level the playing field. And that’s where The Combine comes in. We’re all about nurturing creativity, whether it’s through our shared workspace, our community events, or supporting initiatives like Remix.
This connection runs deep, especially with Bryan Brock, a key figure at both Remix and The Combine. Bryan’s one of us—a talented artist, photographer, and filmmaker who’s always pushing boundaries. He’s also the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Remix, so it felt like a natural fit when he took the reins as host of the Invitational.
The day kicked off with perfect weather and a course that’s seen its fair share of history. But what really stood out was the energy—there was this great mix of familiar faces and new connections, all brought together by a shared commitment to supporting the next generation of creatives.
And yes, there were plenty of memorable moments. From the $50k hole-in-one challenge to the air cannon that let you blast golf balls down the fairway, the tournament had its fair share of excitement. But the highlight? Seeing how everyone came together, not just to play golf, but to support a cause that means so much to all of us.
For us at The Combine, the Remix Invitational wasn’t just a day on the greens—it was a chance to be part of something bigger. It’s events like this that remind us why we’re here: to foster creativity, build community, and support the people who make our city’s culture what it is.
