Chatting AI with the ADCCs

The topic of Artificial Intelligence is hitting a boiling point within the creative, design, and advertising community. It needs to be discussed, explored, and properly understood before we can jump to any conclusions. This is exactly why the Advertising and Design Club of Canada (ADCC) collaborated with The Combine on Craft Club, a look at the intersection of craft and artificial intelligence.

Five presenters shared their findings, thoughts, and experiments, all with the intention of showcasing the potential of using AI as a tool or a companion to a creative task. We saw how AI tools are being used to enhance and prototype projects. But we also explored some of the current limitations – in that sometimes the results can be hilarious disasters. It was all in good fun.

After the presentation portion, all our guests were invited to The Combine’s bar Luigi’s to take part in a unique AI Art Battle and check out the experimental AI bartender LuigAI. It was an evening of discussion, experimentation, and open-mindedness. With artificial intelligence, we simply can’t predict the future. But instead of outright rejecting it, we can embrace it as a tool that could potentially make us better.
