"Welcome to My Studio" is a showcase of select works and sculptures by Shakeel Rehemtulla.

It is a visual map of his creative process from digital to physical while inviting an audience to witness its development.

Shakeel is a Toronto ceramics artist who lives, works, and teaches out of Parkdale.

He has an interdisciplinary degree from NSCAD where he focused on printmaking with a minor in ceramics.

Although his focus has since shifted to sculptural ceramics that maintain functionality, he values the instant gratification and limitless possibilities digital illustration offers. He uses this as a jump-off point to inspire his physical forms.

Outside of creating his own work he also teaches anyone with an interest in clay. From beginner hand-building techniques to intermediate wheel throwing, expanding ceramics is a social activity rather than a singular one. Teaching has allowed sharing his studio and knowledge and gain inspiration from his students.
