Spring Harvest: Preservation Workshop

Join private chef, Ayah Hanafieh, owner of Oui Aïa -- known for her supper parties hosted in secret locations across Toronto -- as she teaches you the art of food preservation and walk away with five jars of your own homemade preserves. Enjoy complimentary snacks and wine prepared and provided by chef Ayah, while you learn.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Fermenting - Learn the most important step in creating a fiery and balanced dish enhancing hot sauce - An assortment of peppers and mangoes
  • Jam & Chutney - Make a sweet jam for toast and a savoury chutney to compliment any dish -Rhubarb
  • Sweet & Salty Pickling - Create a crisp and flavourful side or a sweet amuse bouche ideal for cheese platters or desserts - Cucumbers, shallots, apples
  • Preservation - A tangy and salty flavor for diverse culinary uses - Labneh & spice balls

Other ingredients:

  • Vinegar
  • Sugar
  • Salt

What You’ll Take Home:

  • 5 Jars of Preserves- Take home a jar of mango hot sauce, rhubarb jam/chutney, pickled Ontario cucumber, preserved labneh & spic balls, sweet & salty pickles (salty pickled shallots, sweet pickled apples)
  • Recipe Pamphlet- A handy guide with all the recipes and tips from the workshop.
